Though the roof shingles are the most reliable roofing materials available in the market but they invite constant repair works once they turn old. Such a scenario drives the homeowners crazy as they have to spend money on unforeseen problems. A possible solution to this problem asks you to replace the old shingle with a new one. After some time, the problem would again crop up. Long lasting solution could be the inculcation of a new roofing material that is more reliable and durable than the regular roof shingles.

The pursuit could take you to the vicinity of the metal roofing materials. Among the metal variants, tin may be considered as the best available option. It is your choice to go either with the plane tin sheet or the tin roofing panels. The pitch of the roof creates some problems in the installation of tin sheets. Hence, tin panels are preferred over the plane sheets.

When it comes to the tin roof panels, they offer a number of advantages to the home roofs. Such panels are not susceptible to rusting and leaking. Moreover, they are considered more durable and reliable than the standard shingles. The factor that goes against them is the high price. They are often priced on a higher scale and hence, are not preferred over the cheaper roof shingles.

Kick off the campaign of removing the old roof to make way for the new roof. Use a scrubber and a bucket of warm water to wash the roof surface thoroughly. Beforehand, clear off any debris or foreign material from the roof. The base for the new roof should look clean and even.

Apply roofing felt on the surface of the roof as a precautionary measure. Roofing felt keeps away insects and other creepy creatures from the roof. Besides that, it acts a sound barrier so that the home members don’t bear the irritating sound of tin.

Use a bright piece of chalk to mark down lines on the roof. These markings would guide the alignment of the tin roof panels when they are installed.

Install the tin roof panels one by one according to the alignment scheme. It is a good idea to keep the guidance of an expert at your disposal at this point of time. Use hammer and nails to attach the panels in place.

Alternatively, a nailing gun can be used to serve the required purpose.
